Sound system help for 1991 camaro rs
Hello everyone.
I wonder if any of you know where I can fit speakers to our 1991 camaro rs please?
I am in the UK & know nothing about taking a car to bits, wiring, electrics etc.
We have the radio head unit ( I should have said originally that it`s an after market stereo, not the original ) that was in the car when my partner inherited it with what`s meant to be a sub in the back. But it sounds rubbish, it`s more a box with ordinary speakers in it, it sits on top of the bit of leather in the trunk/boot.
It would be nice in time to have some speakers fitted somewhere in the trunk/boot & some in the door cards too. I have noticed though that there doesn`t appear to be anywhere in the trunk pre made at the factory for speakers to go into, same with the door cards.
I`m sure some of you know more than I do about this & would be grateful for more info on it.

Thank you kindly for that, I`ve never really seen that before for a website, where you can put in your make & model & they filter out for you what fits. Great idea that.
I`ve had a brief look on there, I`ve also looked on a well known UK site & found something cheaper.
Can I ask if you know of anywhere in the vehicle interior that the factory fitted speakers to the car please?
I can`t see anywhere that built in speakers would have fitted, not in the doors or the trunk.

The std. Camaro locations would be in each corner of the dash pad for the front, and in each quarter panel in the rear seating area, behind these panels.
If your Camaro had the Bose Stereo, it would have front speakers in the lower kick panels (cowl side panels), and in the storage cover in the rear of the vehicle.

Re: Sound system help for 1991 camaro rs
Any aftermarket 4x6 will probably be an upgrade over the stock dash front speakers,..... just be sure to use a Tweeter speaker and not a 3-way speaker.
Same thing goes for the rear 6x9's,.... and again; make sure they are a dual-cone Woofer and NOT a 3-way speaker.
If you want to modify the system to add speakers to your doors or your hatch area it's going to be a custom set-up. There used to be aftermarket suppliers that sold kick panel and hatch area speaker boxes but I don't have any specific suggestions.

Thank you for that.
I don`t think there are any front dash speakers, if there are they aren`t working or maybe wired in.
