Which factory radios
I am thinking on replacing my busted factory radio with a new/used one. I like the look of factory with the car but want to get one of the newer ones with CD player. What years will fit in the dash opening without problems. I am not worried about wiring I can get new connectors from GM.
All GM din and 1/2 should work. They need to be rewired though. You also have to make sure it is not a preamp output only. As long as it is internally amplified u should have no prob.

Like the poster above me said 1.5 DIN will fit, but wiring will differ from the 92-up GM radios. WARNING buick Lesabre radios will NOT WORK. They are just a shade larger than 1.5 din, but not quite a double din. Also, like the guy above me said, Bose radios won't work either, unless you are REALLY creative.

If you want the factory look, order the Classic Camaros parts book. They have a real nice head unit for about $269.00. Camaro or Firebird. CD or Cassette, Bose option, Cassette also. One unit comes with 10 CD changer option. If you already have the Audiovox CD changer (it was made generic, but a lot of stereo companies sold them) you will be in the mix.
