Expert Help needed badly!! 2 questions!

Ok nnobody responded to my previous post I assume that nobody knows about the mtx ts82 series boxes. Well I finally found some nice polk 10's that will fit nicely in the boxes but when i went back to purchase them two sales men with less than a grade school diploma told me that 10's in a box 13,3/16 x 16,1/4 x 7,3/8. will not work! They told me on rebound the subs will stick because of lack of room in the box. Ive seen alot of custom boxes actually smaller running 10's in a sealed inclosure so whats up? Will 10's stick in a box with those dimentions?
Question 2. My new kenwood deck says to use the built in crossover for subs "the subs have to be active" what exactly does that mean? ive played with my 8's hooked up and it would not show the sub controll feature, I even tryed it through the amp with no luck. Do the subs I choose for that have to be in an internally amplified box?
Thanks I hope someone can help!

Not sure on the deck but that box should be ok for most recent 10's, its about .85 cu. ft. which is actually a little too big for most current 10's, usually in the .5-.75 range, go to the mtx website or look on the box of them and find out the recommended enclosure volume, that should tell you if they will be ok or not.

That is about right for tens. The .85 is the total box volume, right? Then that's .425 cu ft. per woofer. That sound good for most tens. If the Polks take more than that, then they're unique.

Thanks for the responce's guys!
I emailed MTX to see what they think on the subject or what they would recomend. I'll probably get whineing about warenty issues but they might give me a straight answer if they email back! It would kinda be cool to take a letter from MTX into that shop and shove it where to sun doesent shine, hehe.

Which Kenwood deck do you have? if it has the KEX feature, you have to go into the menu setting and turn it on before you have crossover control on the deck. if you don't, all you have are bass and treble control.

Finnaly got sub controll !
It's the function where you hold the loud button for a few seconds then it turns on the sub controll, it still needs an external amp but it cuts out all the other noise completly kinda neat if you want a 4 channel amp to produce multiple function.
Thanks for the replys, Im still waiting for MTX to mail back "if they do". I'll be sure to post what they say so I can get some opionions on what replacements they would recomend.
Thanks again.
