What are some commonly used 4x6's that have good sound?

I'm just wondering, cause, I've tried Polk 4x6's and they were ok, but couldn't take anything, and besides, the drivers side didn't fit. And I didn't feel like dremmelling away my instrument pod. So, I got some Pioneer TS-G4647 yestrday for $53 from Best Buy..... they fit!!!! But they aren't up to the task of handling loud music aparently. Also got Rockford Base Blockers on um, they sound, OK, but not to my satisfaction. I wanna try the Pioneer TS-A4667, will I notice that big of a difference? I just want some decent sounding 4x6's that fit in the dash without me moding the damn thing, and I can't find um So whadda you guys have in there, and whats a good choice, cause I'm tired of it distorting or poping, or sounding like ****! (The the new Pioneers don't Pop, and sound OK, just, they can't hold anywhere NEAR as much power as the Sony's in the back, which, even with fine tuning makes everything suck. So, any suggestions are welcome!

What was your problem with the sound of the Polks? That's what I have in my Camaro and I have no complaints. Especially judging by your price-range, I really don't see you doing a hell of a lot better.

dude, mb quart makes some of the best sounding speakers u can buy, they may be like $100 or more for the 4x6s but its definately worth it man, ive heard some 6.5mb quarts, and they were LOUD lol, ask a proffesional to demonstrate them against say some alpines or something

The Polks sounded ok, but my biggest problem with them was getting them to fit into my Dash. The magnet was WAY to big. I really don't feel like dremeling out my dash, as I said. Is it possible to have both Dash AND Kicks installed at the same time?

Get some Infinity 4x6's. They sound great, needs a little modification to fit, but it's worth it!!!

My vote is for Memphis for great 4x6's although $190 is pretty steep for a set of plates. MB Quart is great. And there's Infinity depending on your price range. Also try getting 4x6 plates, they sound better and fit better in most cases.

Here's an idea: Go listen to some! As you can see here, everybody has a different favorite. Grab some of your favorite tunes and go listen to as many as you can find. You'll figure out right away what brand you like best.

Swap them out for 4'' Circle speakers or plates, or forget them and get kick panles for real good sound..
