Alpine & Mute Device

From the manual: "If a device having the interrupt feature is connected [to the head unit], audio will be automatically muted whenever the interrupt signal is received from the device." What kind of device? Cell phone? How would it work?

Cell phone hands-free kits and other similar devices have an interrupt output. When the deck senses either +12 or ground (I don't know which) it mutes the deck until that signal is gone. It's probably designed to sense +12, but I'm not certain, so make sure you find out for sure before you screw with it.
