i was installing a b&m shifter today and i was trying to fit the console in and it always hits the buttons on the front of my radio *89 gta ta* and then all of a sudden the next time i turned my radio on ( 5 min later) the antenna wouldnt come up i still get channels clear if i go to them and when i hit seek it just scans and scans forever wont stop
any help?

 

The "seek" part of the deal is actually quite simple. Since your antenna won't go up, you don't have great reception. Some of the stations are probably still good enough to listen to...but they're too weak for the seek mechanism to recognize that they really are radio stations.

You'll have to rethink EVERYTHING you did before the antenna stopped working.

There is a 3-prong plug on the passenger wheelhouse...if you unplug it, the antenna won't work, so check that.

Probably when you were doing the shifter install, you either unplugged something, cut a wire by mistake, or maybe put a screw through a wire. Or the wire is just pinched underneath a piece of trim someplace.

If you pull the radio out, the wiring diagram is stamped on the casing. I'm pretty sure the power antenna wire is pink, but check to be sure. Then you can trace the wire along, and look for damage or cuts.

Followed all the wires couldnt find anything but i didnt locat the 3 pronged plug either so that might be where it is, my dome light wont come on either...
