My old system...
Hello, long time lurker, first time poster.
Saw a few post lately about system plans, so I figured I'd mention what I used to have in my old 87 'bird.
Pioneer Premier head unit
Pioneer in-dash EQ w/ xover
PG Blue Sapphire cables
Polk 4x6 mids in dash
Infinity dome tweeters on the doors (in front of the handles)
Emminence 6 1/2" mid basses in the rear side panels
Pioneer 351C 12" subs
Orion 225HCCA for sub amp
Sony XM-4040 for main amp (2ch to mid basses, 2ch to mids and tweets w/ passive xover)
This combo was raved about for its sound quality at many local IASCA events in 93. Hit 124dB with the IASCA test track (jazz) and 133dB (alot back then) with bass music.
Just mentioning this to make the point that sometimes less is more...
Oh, the box that Jim85IROC makes looks EXACTLY like the box that I used to run. Man are they a B*TCH to build. His looks killer, and I have to say that his prices are well worth it. We had *many* hours into my box...

85 Shelby Charger soon to be EProduction... or maybe SuperProduction... or
maybe...
87 GLHS #314
90 Formula 350 (I think I'll have a V8!)
