best way to wire

I'm a novice at the whole car audio thing I know what sounds good but not how to hook it up. Well I got a pioneer HU, 4x6's and 3 way 6x9s. I like clean sound not loud sound. I'm hooking the rear ones up to an am and know how to do that the right way but i want to run better wire to the front. do I just take the spliced wire off the harness and connect it to the new thicker guage wire? and then connect the new wire to the spliced wire off the speakers? i ask this becuase the connectors off the speakers are smaller. or would it be better to connect the wire directly to the contacts off the speakers? any help would be much appreciated. No flaming please :-) :hail:

Thats the ticket. The more splicing you do is just asking for trouble. So I would directly solder the heavier gauge wire to the terminals verses splicing

if your goign to amp anything amp EVERYthing. when you go to a show where do you hear most of the sound...... the front. so get better speckers for the front and then AMP them make sure you get an amp with hi-low crossover and then add a sub. i have seen way to many people trying to get bass out of a 6x9 and all they do is blow them. 6x9's and 4x6's are good for mid bass not sub bass. also i bet you about $100 bux they they do not handle 100watts RMS..... i bet it is more like 40watss RMS BUT if you don't want to waste the money and get a 4 ch. amp and want to run them off the head uint then put bass blockers on all the speakers go to a pro shop not a best buy or anything like that. no one there knows what they are talking about...... good luck :-D
