subs are messed up.....please help!

subs are messed up.....please help!
when i play my cd player at low volume the subs stay on for a lil while then they just fade out....what could b the problem?
if i turn it up a lot then they come back on and they are fine....

yah i didnt solder the wires together
would that do it
and the subs are cheap they are profile baja's and i have a mtx 250 amp hooked up to them
