just got done with custom box.!!

ok so my friend built me a box from my specs and design, (i was polishing my rims, wet/dry sanding and stuff) well anyways we stayed up last night at his house, with our little friends miller lite and something his dad had. well back to the box, he started to cut and it all came together now i have a custom speaker box that sits just below level with the rear deck, and we are making a grating for the top so i can carpet over the grating so the box looks like it isnt there. then i will be happy no more WTF that box doesnt fit or look good, no all i have to do is buy some real subs, instead of the cheapies i have now. mmmm JL audio 10"s maybe. but i think their magnets are too big for the amount of space i have now, he didnt take that into effect, so if i have to build another oh well.

just thought i would rant.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are.. I built a custom box to sit back there and have a carpeted board sit over it to make it look like its just a cover but the box may not hold the Kicker CompVR's (10") that I bought and the volume might definitely be too small.

i have definately over 1 cubic foot of space per sub, but my sub depth is very short, it almost touches the bottom board, if i get my JLs i might have to remake the box and this time it was tough, but next time it wont be soo bad. i used MDF 3/4" this time, what would be a good thing to use next time?

and how deep are the magnets on JLs? the 10s i have now are only setup for 150 watts so they are really small, they hit good for my car, but i want more.
thanks.
