Sub Box and 10W-6 question
Sub Box and 10W-6 question
I was wondering if any one had any design specs and or pics of a single 10" sub box for a 3rd Gen?? The reason I am asking is because I recently purchased a JL 10W-6 and heard from a friend that the 10W-6's work best in 1's or 3's. I was wondering if he was correct....I'd prefer a single sub than 3.
Also, how many watts should I be running to it?
Thanks for any help,

a single w6 will present a 3 ohm load to the amp, so make sure you have an amp that is stable down to 2 ohms mono (don't think any are specifically 3 ohm).
You "may" get away with running it on a good amp that is rated to handle a 4ohm load, but I'm not guaranteeing that.

I'm running a single 12W6 right now in the the JL recommended 2.25 cu ft. ported enclosure on the shelf behind my back seat. It's running in 3 ohms bridged to my PG M100. The 12W6 is rated at 300 RMS, I'm giving it 400 easy. The W6's are way underrated. I would think a 10W6 could handle at least 300 RMS. If you do the setup I did, it would fit a little better because you don't need as much air space. Mine barely fits without hanging over the edge or rising above the top of the back seat. JL's site has all the specs on their subs. They can give you recommended enclosure types and sizes too. JLaudio.com
