metal in kickpanels

metal in kickpanels

is it safe to cut out some metal in case my components need more depth in kickpanel pods? anyone ever do this, and did it work good? thanks

I'm cutting out most of the metal behind the kick, but I'm sort of an extreme case.

There is already a decent size hole behind each plate, that can be widened out to the welds and not really cause any harm. This should give you enough room to fit the magnet of the speaker into the body work and give you plenty of depth. Just be sure to deaden the inside of that cavity.
