NEED DIRECTION

I plan to build a box for my hatch but I need to know which direction do I point the subs, towards the gas tank, towards the glass or towards the rear. (I plan to make a box for 2 12 in a sealed enclosure)

You might want to reconsider the sealed part with the 12's "depending on box size".
As far as placement its doesent matter where the subs face but you shoul probably allow them some room to breath "5in" space minumun so your best bet is to face them up toward the hatch glass.

Most of my boxes have the subs facing up, but I did build a box with a single 12" JL facing toward the back and I was quite impressed with the sound.

Well it depends on air space. 12's in general are put in closures with breather tubes. Like I said it depends on how much airspace you allow for in the box itself.
Good luck with it! and hey you can always make a sealed enclosure and it its not suffcient whip out the hole saw

Sealed boxes are generally the smallest enclosure type you can make. Why is size even being argued here?
