What are the competition rules and stuff?

What all can I have for each competition class. Just out of curiosity... I eventually want to build a competition system but i wanna know the rules so I can set a goal and be the best in a catagory with in my reach. Id hate to break a rule and wind up a middle weight in a heavy weight division. Anyone know or know where I can go to look it up?

Well prolly loudness and all around. I have ideas for a system id like to build, it will take me awhile to do it but i will. Basically i wanna put momo12s in the back infinity 6x9s in the sail panels (the .3s not the.1s), get some of your kicks with either momo components or perfect components and of cours infinitys in the door, with some head im not sure which one yet... Id prolly be powering the moms with a mtx thunder 8 1000d amp and the interiors with a fosgate 800.4 amp (the components and 6x9s runing off the 4 chanels and the 4x6s off the head.

Now where im hazy is if I put 4 momos in the back is that gonna put me in a class way out of my leauge? I heard somewhere if u put more than 2 subs in the back you go to a different division where u might as well lose your back seat....

There is more than one sanctioning body, each one has a ton of different classes, and each sanctioning body has a 100+ page rules book. If you're interrested in competing, I'd suggest getting the IASCA rules book. It's a good place to start.

Since you are on north east coast, I recommend IASCA since they have a fair amount of shows. Sounds like you are mostly interested in the idbl (loudness). Most idbl shows in our area also have sound quality shows as well, so you can check those cars out and get an idea of if you want to try that too.

Idbl is based on woofer sizes and amounts.
Here are some links with more info on the classes:
