what would beat my two kappa perfects
hi, i am unsatisfied with my 2 10"infinity kappa perfects perfomance, and would wonder what would u guys recommend on me buying,i was thinking of a 1 sub set up,with the sub being powered by my 202a amp,it is rated at 600x1 @4ohms,but i think i can bridge it down to 2 ohms to make even more,so what sub would u think would be a good choice, "i want my car to shake apart" thanks, also perfects forsale, ne one interested... thanks again.

If your 2 10" perfects aren't loud enough, what makes you think 1 10" is going to be louder? Perfects slam if you give them enough power. I would make sure that they are reaching their full potential. Either your amp isn't powerful enough, or maybe you've got an installation issue you need to work out. If everything is in order and you want it louder, buy more/bigger subs and more power.

well they arent to bad, its just the one sub makes a popping noise, and i dont have a clue as to why,i emailed infinity bout it,and they said to put them into a ported box instead of a sealed, has ne one else had this problem before?? my box is to big,i used a dual 10 ported box configuration, exact mea. but i have seen the audiobaun subs, that handle a alot of power, and was just thinkin it might slam harder by having it echo out of the well, instead of firing out of the well, thanks for ur time.

I've heard of a lot of people blowing up their Perfects. If only 1 sub is doing it, that tells me that the sub is defective or blown.

Those types of SPL require major power regardless of the sub. Subs that can withstand massive power are also very heavy and very inefficient. Unless you have unlimited power at your disposal, those monster subs won't give you any advantage. My Oz subs are old school. No big fat surrounds, no massive magnet and no massive cast basket. But, they have a 90db sensitivity as opposed to the 80dB sensitivity that some of these massive subs have, so with anything below 1000 watts, my Oz subs will play louder than any of these massive things. This is part of why JL has such a great reputation for being loud. With normal levels of power, the JLs will outperform these so called "SPL" subs. It's not until you go to insane power levels that these massive subs begin to show an advantage.

I'm not sure what the "popping" noise could be maybe something with your dustcap? but Audiobahn makes very good subs. I have one 12" (AW-1200X) that can blow away any pair of Best Buy or Circuit City subs.
I have about 400 watts feeding it and I am very impressed with the quality of the sound. It is also very efficiant at 92.7 dB. If your going for SPL it handles 1400 Peak/700 RMS. I also heard Orian and JL are also very good.
