IT depends a lot on what series you are talking about. The MTX thunder 6000 or 8000 dont sound too bad, Im not sure on the durability. Pretty much all JLs sound great...its more a matter of how good you want it to sound. Even the W0 series sounds pretty good in a sealed box, but if I were you I would go for a W3 or W6. More $$, but well worth it because they will last pretty much forever if not abused. Ive been happy with all my JL speakers and wouldnt think of buying anything else. Make your own opinions by listening but in my opinion you get what you pay for!

I have a JL 12W6 in my T/A and it sounds great, much better than my other 2 subs I've had, RF Punch 12" XLC and Kenwood 12" blue looking speaker.
