Where should I put my sub for the best sound??
Where should I put my sub for the best sound??
Right now I have 2 mtx 6000 10" subs sitting in the trunk facing up at the glass. They are in sealed boxeson top of a board that i put from one side to the other on the ledges that are in the trunk. Well, my question is where should I put my 10" that I'm getting. That would leave me with 3 10" subs. I have room under the board that I put across the ledge, should I put it under that in a sealed box and aim it at the front of the car or should I put it somewhere else. Where is the best place to put it without canceling out some of the sound my mtx 10's are making?? Please help. Pics would be great!!

Are all of the subs the same size/style? Just checking, because mixing brands/sizes usually results in ****-poor sound.
Anyway, no matter what way each one faces, as long as they're wired in phase, there will be no cancellation. Ideally getting the subs as low in the well as possible will yield the highest output, but it's sort of tough to fit that many subs down there. I'd suggest building a single box to fit in the traditional configuration with the 3 subs firing up towards the glass, but as low as possible to accomodate the proper airspace within the box.

Actually they are different subs. I have 2 mtx 6000 10" and 1 blaupunkt overdrive 10" The overdrive is something I got for real cheap from where I work. It has a 400 watt amp that I got with it and I would hook up this amp and put the overdrive sub in a sealed box. If i put it with the two mtx's would it sound like crap or will it sound good. Is there anywhere I could put the overdrive sub so it sound good. the Mtx's are 250 rms and the overdrive is 350 rms.
