In my old boss's protege he had two of his amps mounted on the roof. they were inside the car upside down. would I be able to do this in my camaro and if I could what kind of special stuff would I need?
Thanx

Any amp should work perfectly fine upside down, sideways, slantways, longways, shortways, etc... (kinda like the wonkavator)

The only problem is if the amp is designed for the heat sink to radiate heat upwards off the amp, it may run a little warm, but nothing a fan couldn't solve if it was even needed.

I've run many an amp upside down and you'd be fine.

you can put the amps upside down...but it will cut the life of you amp short. the heat will stay in the amp when you mount them upside down

You can mount the amp anyway you wish. The internal transistors are all fastened to the heatsink and of course the inside amp temps are going to be high. They are designed to handle high temps or they would be branded "the only company that has amp overheat problems when installed in a trunk or under a seat."
I would be carefull where you mount the amps. If they're in the rear then a midget would have head room problems and you will have to forget about the use of your rear view mirror. I would try and mount them on the far sides just above the sail panels. Question: Why do you want to mount them on the roof?
