home speakers in a car

i have some nice floor speakers, they have 15" woofers, 4" mids, and a 1" tweet, can i wire them to my amp (amp is 75x4) will this work, will it wrek anything???

Yea, you can wire them into your car, with one huge problem.. WTF man, home speakers in your car.. Well I guess if you dont leave them in the original box. You're alright.

i just want to stick em in there for one day, just temporart, box and all, me and some friends are having a "gathering" tomarrow and we ned tunes and i dont have the time or money right now to install subs so..., but everything will work? and not like blow up

It will work fine in the original box or not as long as it fits in your car. Most home stereo speakers are wired at 8 ohms, so your amp won't have a problem with them.

hes right about the 8ohm thing, your car is typically 4ohm, but subs are a choice thing(1,2,3,4,6,8ohm you name it you can get it throught different wiring). My guess is that there is quite a compicated crossoversystem inside of that house box, ad if you pulled the speakers out seperate, namely the subs w/o a low pass crossover its gonna sound like but. :P on the back of all of the speakers it should say the ohm rating. if you dont know what ohms are ask me.

Years ago I used to have Bose 301's in the back seat (6 ohms). They sounded great. So, for a temporary solution I say go for it.

yea, cept i think the wattage might differ tween home and car audio.....


other than that. nope, just beware of underpowering them, and.... well, whatever else in your trunk,
