Installing a jvc unit......
One of my friends just gave me an older jvc kameleon unit and I just got the parts I need to install it. I bought an fm adaptor, and a stereo installation kit from best buy. That kit has like hundreds of plastic pieces in it! And the instructions suck, they don't tell you jack. Does anyone have any experiance with these? Also, am I gonna need a gm wiring harness? I saw one at best buy and I wasn't sure if I was going to need it. Any help would be great! Thanks

The closest ive come to that is wiring decks in my 88 cutlass "BEAST" what i do is take the mounting kit the plastic think that fits around the deck it has a face plate on it that acts more like maybe a spacer, which should snap together, as for the wiring, usually there are plastic connectors in the dash that u can take ur old deck off and get a wiring harness for the yr camaro u have that will clip on to it and have all the wires coming off that to wire into the the clip that is in the back of the deck, and just match up the wires and tie them off or tape or what ever it is u like to do. hope this helps some.

Easiest way to wire the head unit is to get the GM wiring harness adapter. If you are using an amp you will still have to run your own speaker wires.
Dashboard kits are a bit confusing, but you should be able to figure it out by reading very carefully.

There are a dozen different dash kits out there, so I'm not even going to attemp to give any sort of instructions. Just take your time and look the kit over. You won't use 90% of the pieces in there. Just figure out which tabs you need to get to the bolt holes in the dash.
You'll need a wiring harness, and don't forget the antenna adapter too.
