Wires?
Wires?
I was thinking of using some larger gauge wires from my CD Player to my speakers (4X6, 6X9) but when I started thinking about it the size of the wires out of the head unit are tiny. I know that larger wires are suppose to have less interferance but wouldn't it be pointless. The person who owned the Trans Am before me really messed up the wiring (real short wiring harness out) so I am going to rewire the whole thing. What gauge is a good rule of thumb to start off with? Thanks in advance
always better to have too big wire than too thin wire. Personally i use 16-14 guage in wiring speakers. I never had a problem.

When I'm using the head unit to power speakers, I use the factory wire and I don't think twice. 15 watts through a 6' wire doesn't require much. If I'm running an amp, then I run 16 AWG or larger just because I feel guilty if I don't, but in all honesty it's still not really necessary unless you're actually consuming large amounts of power for those speakers.
