Good enough system?
I am looking to buy a system which consists od two JL 10 w0 subs, with a rockford 250 watt amp. Would this system put out enough bass? I am not looking to enter compititions or anything, but I just want to feel it. I don't have much experience "feeling" different systems, so I don't know how much this would pound. So any input you have on how this would pound and would compare with other systems would help alot. Thanks
I used to have a 10 inch JL audio sub until I gave it to my friend... running it with a 500 watt rockford amp it hits HARD... your only problem might be not enough power.
JL does hit hard and very nicely. I plan to replace my pioneer subs with JL soon.

sounds like your getting a reasonable used price. I think the 10" will sound fine. i would try it in a sealed box that is the right diminsions for the speaker in question. I'm not sure what your looking for,so I would stick with the 250w amp and upgrade only if you really feel the need. I recomend sealed because you know it will sound good, but if you know of a good ported box, ported will get more bass for less power. stay away from bandpass boxes!!!
just noticed that you are running two 10"s,yes 250w is enough if that's RMS power and you have them set up for a 2 ohm load on the amp,see instructions on crutchfield.com . those JL's can handle way more than 250w though, a JL 500/1 will shake your car to pieces!! don't compromise on the quality of the box,3/4" MDF all the way!!
