Rockford setup?
Rockford setup?
Okay guys, I have a Rockford head unit and an 8" bazooka tube. I am replacing all 4 speakers in the car with Rockford speakers. The 4X6's in the front and the 6X9's in the back. I don't want anything overly loud, just a good solid sounding system. Anyways, my question is whether the system will sound good with the Bazooka tube powered by a Rockford Punch 100 amp? I went to the local sound shop and that is what they suggested. Will the new 6X9's sound good without anything pushing them?

I had 2 8" Bazookas in my RS with a Punch 100 running them and they hit pretty hard. I now have one 12" MTX (used to have 2, but 1 got smoked, literally
).
The one 12" IMO, sounds much more accurate. But it hits no where near as hard as those 2 8" tubes. I had them sitting in the well, stacked up & firing opposite sides.
Bazookas are very efficent. The 8"s are like 102db@1w/1m. The 12" I have now is only 89.6db@1w/1m. If I ported my box (which I should since it's ~2.0ft^3) then it would hit a little harder, but that's not really what I want.
The guy I sold the Bazookas to hit 132.6db with a Kicker 2x50watt amp running them bridged. They're 8 ohm subs, so his amp is running nice and cool. That's in a 97 Chevy 1/2ton, Ext. cab, Z71.
