JL Comps. w/ DD's....
ok, here's the setup. I have a JBL BP 600.1 that is going to run 2 DD 2010's in a 3 cu.ft. box tuned to 35Hz. I also have a JBL P80.4 that I am going to use for the rest of the speakers. I'm thinking of doing JL XR650-CS Components on a plate where the 6x9's were, and JL XR525-CS Components on a custom door panel (tilted just like a kick). Now, I'm wondering how it will sound. Would I be missing sound from the dash? Would I get enough hi's? My HU is a Sony Xplod CDX-C7000X (around 2.5 preouts). I am not going to change my head unit or anything. I already have the subs and amp. Just deciding on the rest of the speakers. Would the 40W RMS @ 4-ohms be enough for the JL's (or other brands)? I know that the 525's take 60RMS, and the 650's take 70RMS. I could get 80RMS through my p80.4, but that's at 2 Ohms. The amp has a built in High and Low Pass filter (from 32-320Hz)...But, I don't know if it would be better to use the Passive's w/ the Components, or what. I'd rather use Active (less chance of noise, and a better slope) although I heard the Passive's w/ the JL's were very nice. Using the Passives, I would just run all 4 channels from my amp to the xo's...which would be 40 RMS to each speaker. How else could I wire this to get the most output from the amp and the speakers? I know an external crossover would be considered, but it seems a waste not to use the ones built in the amp. Let me know any opinions that you guys have....
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
