Hey guys Im looking at getting this set up:
2 MTX subs ( not sure of wich model )
Has a /_\ shaped box with a 100x2 watt MTX amp on it. I can buy it for $160 Or I can trade the guy my 600 watt 6x9's plus $30 what would you do ? would you even get it?

 

well, you could get it and bridge the amp into 1 channel and run the subs mono to get more power from there. As far as the box goes, mtx subs arent all that bad .. as long as you get the mid to high end series. I ran 2 10 jbls in a small $20 box and it made me happy for a bit ... what 6x9s are you trading in??

belive it or not they are pyramids, actually some of the better sounding 6x9's I've heard as long as you amp them, Pyramid isnt all that bad if oyu get their high end stuff, like these are 3 ways with aluminum cones, in custom 6x9 boxes. they sound good but they dont fit in the sail panels because the magnet is to big, so I made the boxes. But the firebird I bought, has pionner 6x9's and 4x6's so I dont need them anymore.
