I was wondering if anyone has ever attempted to mount 8-12 sub on the plastic cover over the spare tire. just measuring it there is easly enough room for a 8 and its tight fit for a 10 at least on my 83. i wanna do a system but i dont want to loose my trunk (what trunk) i also have a box that was made for my 91 maro i sold a few years ago (the car not the box) would the box fit in the 83 trunk.

 

There's one guy on here with a wicked example of what you're talking about, but he mounted the sub behind the cover, not on it. His name is JPrevost and he posted a thread a little while ago with the final pics of his spare tire compartment stealth sub. It's hard to see in the pics in the thread (that's the point), but his website has more pictures. Here's the thread:
