Have a couple questions.

Ok I've been TRYING to install my head unit in my 89 formual but some one ahs royally funked up the wiring, its absolutley butcherd. I have about 3" at the most of wiring to work with and about 4 billion extra wires that go to nothing. Right now my problem is I have no memoery with my deck, I ran a seperate wire from the fusebox to the head unit for my constant, and I did all that but it still has no memory. 2nd problem. Last night I decided to fiddle around with it agian. I changed a couple of the wires over. after doignthat I had to run to the store, and I notice dI have no instrument panel lights, and my headlights will pop up but wont come back down? WTF? any ideas?

ouch, i've been there!! go find a wireing diagram for the deck and the car. you dont really want to be testing the wires by touching random wires together, you will prolly blow a fuse somewhere or short something. in your situation, I would start over with the wireing diagrams. I would cut everything (start over), re-crimp some longer wires to what you have to give yourself room to work. Then hook it up according to the diagrams. I just installed a deck last week in my 89 rs and lucky for me the wires all matched up (no diagrams needed). your deck will always have a power wire, a ground, a memory wire, a remote start wire for your amp, then 4 sets of wires for your speakers and then maybe preamp outs (RCA's). your interior guage lights might not be working cuz maybe you blew a fuse. check the fuses, see if anything is blown. if the headlights wont come down now, i dunno what to say, maybe shorted the headlight motor? try to work the headlights again when the deck is completely disconnected and see what happens.

TTT... Im not sure what wires touched or even if they did. its bugging me. My tail lights dont work, my headlights turn on but wont go down ( they do go up though ) and my lights on teh front end next to the headlights dont work unless I use the blinker, same with the tail lights they dont come on unless I brake or use the blinker.

you are problably grounding your head unit to the dimmer wire, you know the other black wire. as for tes rest, use aa batterys to figure out witch set of wires go to witch speaker. i know it sounds gay but my wires were the same way and i had the dash light problem and i accidentally grounded to the dimmer wire and blue the dash light fuse out every time i turned the lights on. good luck

I would unhook the headunit and check the fuses before attempting anything else....
