What is the best brand for like speakers and head unit. I would like to stay with the same brand for the speakers and head unit. I would like a good clear not distorted setup. I probably won't put in subwoofers, but i havent ruled it out yet. Out of the brands on Crutchfield what is the best?

On Crutchfield the best they have by far is Infinity Perfects. Thats not even debateable. As for subs its hard to say. I love Rockfords, Infinty's, MTX aint bad on higher end stuff. Gota love JL but they aint on there. Ive never personlly liked Kickers but i always hear good stuff bout em. Everything else i keep away from. And if you need a deck Alpine the ONLY answer.

I agree with DJ. Why use the same brand? If you had to I'd go with Eclipse, the only reason I'd stay with the same brand is if it were speakers and subs becouse they are more likly to have the same "Signiture". However even SQ champs don't use the same brands usually.
Crutchfield? Why not go to a local shop where you get to listen before you buy? If you do, for HU's I'd go with Nakimichi, Eclipse, or Alpine. For speaks I like Focal, CDT, or a/d/s/. These are some of the best others are Dynaudio, Oz, MB Quart, and too many to list. But all these brands will cost about $400-$1000+ for their good component sets. Not many people feel that they need to go for the High end stuff, unfortunatly I'm cursed with the desire to have them.
When you say you want a clean undistored signal than any aftermarket speak should be fine. But if you want the best you need to go to a speacialty audio shop and listen carefully to differant brands to determine which you like best. If you must go with Crutchfield I like Infinity and Kenwood.

if u want good undistorted sound, u should definately amplify your front speaks, i have 75W rms to my JL Audio 5¼" speaks, and wow, they sound so nice compared to my pioneer 4x6s in the dash just off my alpine, which is 45W max, i just use a Lightning Audio B200.2 for those lil JLs, its a cheap amp, but some of the best entry level amps u can buy for the money, like my amp, costed $130, and it works for a single sub pretty good too, its 400w max into one channel at 4ohms, i drove it 2ohms with Kicker COMP VR 12s, and jeeze, it pounded so hard, but it would go into protection mode

I have a Premier deck in my car and an Eclipse deck in my Blazer. Once you start spending over $300 or $400 on a CD player, in my opinion, you are hard pressed to hear a difference in sound quality. I like Alpine, Eclipse, and Premier, as far as head units go. The reason I bought the Premier was for the unending list of features it has. As far as speakers, I run all Eclipse. I think they sound very natural and are extremely clear and can handle all kinds of power. Everyone has their own opinion, just go to the store, listen to some different brands, and pick what you like best.

Premier is Pioneer's high end equipment. It has three set of preouts, 3-band adjustable parametric GEQ (instead of just bass and treble), which allows you to alter the frequency at which each of the adjustments is centered at, and their slope. For example, the bass setting goes from -6 to +6, but you can adjust where the bass is centered, something like anywhere between 40Hz and 200Hz. Then you can change the slope at which it affects the adjacent frequencies. It also contains adjustable high-pass and low-pass crossovers, and there are some other things, but I think this is long enough. I'm not trying to sell anything here, you just asked what it had.
