I have a nice 1.5 DIN Pioneer headunit in the car I'm about to sell to get money for my new-to-me 85 z-28. I was wondering if it was possible to take out that mounting bracket that's there and stick in a 1.5 DIN w/o it looking horrible? Has anyone attempted this? I'll have to take a closer look and do some measurements, but I'd love to have that extra room, and the extra money from not buying another HU. thanks

 

no one has any idea? never seen it done? I guess it would be hard to find a place to mount the screws, but anything's possible. Have an imagination!
