Factory indash CD in 89 Firebird?

Hi, I hope someone can help me out, Will any of the newer factory am-fm CD head unit's work as a straight bolt in replacement for the factory am-fm cassette that came in the car?
I'm sure I saw a post about a granprix?(maybe) head unit that fit,but I can't seem to find it?
My brother in law is a sterio installer and I can likely get a take-off unit for next to nothing I just need to know what to look for.
Any help would really be appreciated thank's SR

GM has always used the standard 1.5 din unit on anything they make. So most anything will fit in there. Its more of a matter of how your going to mount it.

You're welcome! I ordered the radio adaptor mentioned at that site. Ordered it on a Thursday and it was in my hands the next Monday! Now I'm just waiting on my (Ebay) radio...
