Question about setting float level on Holley
Dual bowls, 750vac, the pressure is about 6psi mybe 7psi tops.
If I remove the sight plug from the side of the bowl with the car off, only a little gas drips out when I rock the car.
If I turn on the car, then gas pours out the hole like it ate some bad clams!
Is this about right? I am running a tiny bit on the rich side and want to tone it down a notch. Thanks.

Well you should really set the float level with the car..or at least the pump if it's electric, running. You get it the most accurate that way.
If it just overflows when the pump is running, then you may have a screwed up needle and seat thats not sealing. That'll definatly make ya run rich.
I recommend starting with the float level very low, then slowly raising it to where you want it. I've found the best results with it so it just barely dribles out when the car is rocked.

It needs to be running and like he said, just a little comes out if you shake the car.

If the needle is off the seat, how do I get it back on? I have taken the metering plate out a few times to change jets... will that mess it up? What do I need to look for?

The needle and seat is one unit, and is replaced as such, takes about 2 min. They're about $10 seperatly..or $20 for a rebuild kit that comes with 2 plus all the other crap.
You know they are bad when lowering the float has no effect, gas still pours out of the hole. They go bad every so often..a piece of gunk will scratch up the seat or jam up the needle. I run a fuel filter right before the carb, it helps alot, but every once in a long while one will go anyway.
