Running lean after going UP in elevation????
I tuned and race my 383 car in KY at 495 ft. elevation last fall. I come to live in Tucson (~2,800 ft) with the SAME carb setup and it is running lean!! What's up with that?
Only change are the headers. I went from a 1-5/8" TES set of headers to Hooker SC 1-3/4" long tube headers. Is this why? Do they scavenge the cylinders that much better?
BTW, I have an Autometer Air/Fuel gauge and a Bosch O2 sensor on the driver's side header that is giving me the A/F readings. The gauge appears to be running properly.
What do you guys think? Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the headers had something to do with it. TES are a lousy set of headers...especially on an engine like that 383 (I'm assuming you're talking about that car). Steping up to a good set of LT's would likely require some retuning.
