timing setting

I have a Berlinetta 305 with feed back Q jet & I want to check the static timing I have read where you pull the 4 wire connector & set it to 6 degrees but I have just read an earlyer posting which says that it should be set to 0 could someone pleas put me straight

Factory spec says 0*, but if you are looking for better low end performance and not so much top speed performance, then advance the timing to ~6* and you will really feel the difference! I've heard some people say that you can even go to 8* but only if you use premium petrol.

Engine: L92/LQ4 (both w/4" stroke)
Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Zero is factory for LG4, 6 degrees for L69.

When I set my LG4 at 6, I have to use mid-grade gasoline to prevent pinging - it runs better, but for daily driving, I set it at 3 degrees and burn regular.

Try different settings (starting at 6 is okay), and see what seems to run the best. That's your timing setting.
