edelbrock #1400 on stock spreadbore intake

Ok, hres my plan. I am currently running the stock cc q-jet and dist. I wanna lose the comp in the car and get the edelbrock 1400 carb. I know that on a visual inspection I wouldnt pass , but we havent gotten that far here in Jersey, yet. My question is what adapter plate should I use for the carb, since its a squarebore mount. I still wanna pass on the sniffer test and im sure that i can tune the motor to pass without the q-jet. I know i will also need a vacuum advance distributor and TCC lock-up kit. The adapter would only be temporary because i will be gettin the Holley street avenger manifold, so i can mount a square flange and have the EGR hook up. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

A 3/4 or 1 inch adaptor plate will work. mr gasket or spector make great adaptors. try to get one with 4 holes instead of the open type.
