Taking a Trip to higher elevation...anything to worry about?

I am going across Donner Pass (about 7000ft at highest point) Saturday morning on my way to hot august nights. My car is tuned for about 1000 feet elevation. Is it going to lean out or richen up? I think if anything it will run a little rich due to the lack of oxygen at that altitude. Will it get so bad I cannot drive it? Any help would be great,
Brit

It will hurt performance, but you will still be able to drive it without any major problems.

It will cause the engine to run richer, but since you are only traveling through it will be no big deal.

Sorry, thought that since I posted it on the carb board it would be assumed that it was carbed. But yes, it is a holley DP.

Reason I asked is a CC carb should adjust with no problems, unless you get into the secondaries.

As said, the Holley will run richer at altitude than it did at home and you'll lose some power. Shouldn't require any changes for the traverse.

Thanks for your help guys. It did just fine. I had 2 other people in it and all our luggage. With the altitude, boy did it feel like a pig!

Some of us live there. We've developed an "altitude attitude".
