Can Edelbrock's be hooked up to my computer?

I have an '86 Firebird with a carburated 305. I'm wanting to put in a 383 with an Edelbrock performer RPM package. Can my computer handle the Edelbrock carb and adjust it, so I don't have to, or will I need to stick with my Q-jet? I love not having to tune my carb. I just get in and go and it runs good. If it can't "adjust" an edelbrock would I better off going with a Demon carb or Holly? Thanks for your help!

uhh... why do you want it to work on your computer now?

thats probably pointless...

get an HEI Vacuum advance distributor and use an edelbrock performer carb or whatever

stock computer is prolly only going to work with a stock carb

dump the computer, its worthless with an engine that large anywho if you're not using FI hehe

I'm just worried about what will mess up if I take out the computer... So if I can leave it in, I won't have to mess with that problem.

99% of the people that leave the computer in do so because they need to pass emmision testing. Do you have emmision inspections?
If not then feel free to remove the computer.
You will need a vac advance distributor "70's-80" and any non cc carb. It is a very simple job just remove the cc distributor and replace it with the non cc one and hook up the wires. Accel distributors run around $140+ and junk yards usualy get 50$ for used ones, add the non cc carb of your choice and it will run. If you are going to be building a 383 I would reccomend dumping the ecm asap and removing all the of stuff your not going to be using to make it easyer later.

Actually I live in Kansas and they NEVER do emissions testing. (Just an honor system.) I'm still debating on whether to build a 383 or just a "typical" 350 bored 30 over with an edelbrock performance system...
