Fuel Pump replacement

I am going to replace the fuel pump in my bird in the next couple days. Is there any pitfalls I need to be aware of? It's in a 91 V-6 3.1 Firebird.
Thanks,,, Matt

The hardest part is getting the tank out to get at the pump, after that it is all straight forward.I did my pump on my 86 TPI T/A in about 3 hours taking my time.Good Luck

did you have to almost drop the rear out the car to get the gas tank out? or is there a way around that?

I had to undo the rear brake hose, shocks and panhard bar and let the read drop as far as it could to get the tank out.I also had to remove the cat back to gain room to get the tank out. After that it was a breeze, just a lot of bull to get it out but really not that hard.

It sounds like a real PITA. I'm getting ready to start on it right now. I hope I can get it done in three hours like you did. I will be able to drive it to work today. I haven't driven it for several months due to too many other projects ahead of it.
Thanks,,, Matt
