hood clearance

hi guys.
i'm in a little problem.
i had to install a plate to adapt the edelbrock 1406 to my 350, so no problems there BUT now the hood wouldnt close (it touches the filter assy), so i've installed my old edelbtock open filter (chrome triangular shape) but guess what, it does close but it still touches the filter assy, my question is...
can i fix it someway somehow WITHOUT changing the hood???
thanks to all for your time.
Fernando.

An old trick for a little hood clearance is to loosen the hing bolts and reposition them so the rear of the hood is a little higher than the fender. it doesnt give u much but it works. i had the same problem with my camaro. i had put a 2-inch spacer with the triangle air cleaner and it still touched, i repositioned the hood and it works fine now
