I recently had the engine on my '82 Recaro Trans Am rebuilt. Since then I've been plaqued with an apparent vapor lock that shows up when the weather is hot (90+) and I been driving for atleast one hour plus. The symptoms show up when I accelerate past a tach reading of 3000 in any gear. My mechanic has been unable to resolve this problem.

 

normally vapor lock is caused when a fuel runs to close to something hot like an exhaust pipe
