TBI to CCC Quadrajet

I am looking at buying a 1988 Trans Am with an LO3, but Im not really interested in keeping the toilet bowl injection. I have a CCC carb and distributor, as well as the engine harness and ECM for a 1984 L-69 Trans Am. 1)Would I be able to just change harnesses and ECM to convert to carb? 2)Would I have to get throttle cable/kickdown from a carbureted car? 3)Would I have any other problems with accessories not working(gauges, tach, wipers etc) due to the different year harness? Thanks in advance.

ROFLMAO! Toilet bowl EFI, haha, sorry, I just never heard that one before.
I agree though, definatly scrap the TBI from a 88 and give it to me (just chuck the ecm). The ecm on the 88 is different from 89-92 and it's a piece, can't do much with it as far as custom eproms.
Why are you scrapping the TBI in the first place? You have a nice bump stick or what?
BTW, if you want TBI to perform, try playing with the fuel pressure, makes a world of difference after doing bolt ons.

No point in going through all that work just to change from a crappy system to a bit less crappy one. Go the extra yard and go to a non-cc carb/distributer. You'll be much happier, better off, and it'll be less work.

I was wondering about this swap cuz I already have the complete setup and I don't know much about EFI. So, if I were to get a non-cc setup, what else would I need to change, other than carb, distributor, and intake manifold. Sorry If I seem like a retard here, but it would be my first EFI car. Thanks again.

You would have to change the exact same as you would for a cc Q jet, minus the harness, ECM, and any assorted sensors.

See the tech aricle on this site on it.
