CC QJet causing backfire
CC QJet causing backfire
Okay, well I just dropped a brand new engine in and my problem (backfiring) is still ocurring. We have it pretty much narrowed down to the distributer or carb, but we feel that the carb is the more likely candidate of the two. So my question is, what on my CCQjet off of my LG4 would be causing the backfire, the LG4 was backfiring too.

I really don't know, backfiring when? I mean, does it bacfire to detah just trying to start it. Does it pop and wheeze as it's running? Or does it backfire real nice when you dig into it. If it's the latter, i'll bet a nickel one of the secondary 'acc. pump' feed tubes either fell out or is clogged.
beyond that backfiring is a sign of lean and/or too much timing.

- Definitely prototypes, high powered mutants of some kind. Too weird to live, too cool to die

thanks for the reply, finally figured it out though, it was running way way way too rich. that was caused by the O2 sensor being dead, and the comp trying infinetly to richen it, new O2 sensor and now my engine is running like it wants to
, again, thanks.
