No more Holleys.
350, stock bottom end,
2.02/1.60 ported Bowtie heads,
Comp Cams 268 extreme energy cam, 477/480 lift
1.5 roller rockers, guide plates etc,
Weiand stealth intake,
Hedman headers, Hooker catback,
Full MSD
3.73posi, 700r4 w/2400 stall converter,
Holley electric fuel pump
Im looking for something with better mileage, more reliability, and "decent" performance. Also, what CFM would I need with this setup?
And, if any, do I need to get an adapter? Hood clearence isn't going to be an issue either,
Thanks in advance,
Scott

If you must dump that Holley, try an Edelbrock 750 performer #1407. It will be close out of the box, but may need minor tuning. (jetting, power piston springs,
accelerator shooters.etc). Try it out of the box first. If your beef with that holley is
flooding, look to that holley electric "Blue" pump. They weren't designed for continuous street use and will tend to pressure creep thru the regulator at idle,
and over power the floats on any carb.
I'd use a high flow mechanical 6/9psi pump
(Holley, Edelbrock, Barry Grant.) They have more than enough flow and just enough pressure for your combo and a lot more reliable. That Holley might just be more friendly now.

I was thinking about changing the pump. That damn thing runs fine, then starts to sound sick, and even with the exhaust leaks and loud exhaust, you constantly hear the pump. The kid before me put it on cause he ran NOS, and he hardly drove the car.
Thanks for the info, that's a much better idea then paying 200+ for another carb. I'll try the pump first. Im guessing that taking out the pump should be simple?
Thanks again,
Scott

Yes save the "blue" pump for a Nitrous System
I works great for that.

I may be selling my "tried and true" Edelbrock 750 cfm carb very soon. My 383 demands a bigger pump shot than this carb delivers for my drag racing....
