Ignition system for carb setup switching from TBI
I read the tech article, and it doesn't help me much here. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a distributor for me. I'm switching from TBI to carb adn want to keep the tach. Will I need an aftermarket ignition module (MSD, etc?). I'm assuming the ACCEL coil I have won't work. Thanks.
Assume I'm stupid and tell me what I need as far as ignition goes when switching over.

You should assume we're stupid and tell us what kind of Accel coil you have.
Any vacuum/mechanical advance distributor would work. That includes factory HEI, aftermarket HEI, or any version of an electronic trigger aftermarket such as MSD, Accel, Mallory, etc.
Any factory HEI should be assumed to need upgrades to the coil and module. Adjustable vacuum advance is a nice touch, spring/weight kits are available to taylor the advance curve.
Your tach should work with any of these by hooking your current tach wire up to the negative terminal of the coil (or the tach terminal, if provided).
