What is involved in switching from CC QJet to Holly 750cfm carb?
I was thinking, since I was also considering ditching the Smog equipment for my car, that I'd like to get a standard Holly or Demon 750 cfm carb just so I don't have so many stupid vacuum lines all over the place. What is involved in this? I'm thinking that I'll end up with that nasty SES light if I don't keep the AIR on my headers anyway, so I might as well get rid of the computer completely, right? I already ordered them from jethot and i'm sure not going to get them recoated just because I need the AIR attachement
Anyway what's involved? HEI Distributer and non CC carb I figure is what I need, so what else needs to be done?
Thanks for the help,
Paul

Heck if I change the manifold I might as well throw in a new cam too
I'd need to figure out what would work with a 350+ though. I plan on upgrading the motor in a few months, probably next winter. I don't know though, is really all I'd need to change to a non-CC carb an HEI distributor? I saw they have them for CC cars, but really there would be no point of having an ECM if I don't have it controlling the carb right? And if I get rid of the CC carb all the Smog equipment becomes inactive right? So all i'd need to keep would be that stupid pump attached to the motor and the charcoal canister right?
How about the ignition? Or coil? What brand of everything would I be recommended to get? I was looking at the Accel Blueprint Distributor jegs part 110-9107D 110-9109. Am I on the right track here?

thats really about it. if I were you I would go ahead and change the manifold while you were at it. The job it half done anyway with the carb and dist off, It'll help you see all the benefits of the exaust and better carb, plus it'll save you from spreadbore/square bore adapter issues.
