My question is, on the left side (driver side)of my carb. It looks like there is
a small L shaped rod that slides on
a half circle that is conected to the secondarys. Sorry if I confuse anyone
trying to discribe it best I can. Anyway
it looks like the rod blocks the secondarys
from opening more than they should as the primarys open. So if I bent this rod would
it let the secondary open wider at a given
rpm. Hope some one knows what im talking bout..Thanks for any input.

Secondary lockout. It blocks the secondaries from opening at part throttle. Why would you want to change that? Without it the secondaries could potentially open without the throttle open very far. You won't gain any performance.

If I'm thinking of the right thing..it also closes the secondaries when you let off. I'd leave it alone If you think you need more cfm from the secondaries opening more...get a bigger carb.

You get them to open farther by putting a weaker secondary spring in. You use the weakest spring that will not cause a bog when you nail it.

A vacuum secondary carb opens based on demand. When tuned properly, it will not open until the engine needs it.

It's hard to say based on what you say in your sig, but I would guess a 750 is more than your engine can use, so the secondaries won't open up quite all the way. If you look at the chart that came with the carb, it would take in the neighborhood of 6500 rpms to open it fully.

This is a common complaint with a vacuum secondary carb. Actually you shouldn't feel the secondaries open up. If you do feel them, you probably have too light of a spring. They only open up as far as the engine needs. Get a bigger engine and they will open up farther. Like 57 said, install a ligher spring if you want them to open farther.
