Car stalls

I have a 87 Trans Am with the LG4 engine. The car starts fine. When it is in park it runs fine but when you put it in drive or reverse it stalls. I was told that the carb might need rebuilt, I got it rebuilt and it ran fine for about two or three weeks but when I started it up the other day and put it in gear it stalled. Please help. Thanks Ross

What is the idle speed in park and in drive?

The idle runs around 1 or so in park, when it is in drive the idle goes up and down from around 1-.25 and then it stalls. normally the drive idle is around .5 or .75 when I had it rebuilt.

You could try increasing the idle speed slightly.

Lean Idle can do that. Try making the idle a bit richer.

------------------
350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

If memory serves me right, someone correct me if I am wrong, the idle screw is on the drivers side of the carb. It should be the only other screw that adjusts other than rich or lean. It is best to adjust w/ two people. One to watch the tach and one to adjust.
