Cold air intake

Is there any good Cold air kits for carburated cars? My car is L69 car but it has K&N but not the originall setup.

There is nothing on our junk yards (I am from Iceland, mostly japanese junk over here and certanly no L69 intakes).

Thanks in advange,

Nonni

Go to your local hardware store, and browse the ailes. There must be 100 ways to make a CAI from the stuff in there. Use dryer ducting, PVC, whatever you can find. Be original.it's more fun that way But you will need some sort of snorkel intake..those can be a little difficult to make from scratch. I havn't a clue where to tell you to look over there.

There is www.ramairbox.com ,but those cost an arm and a leg.

If you have an 82-84 Z28 (or the hood from one) I'm designing a ram/cold air intake that uses the stock hood scoops (even the blocked off ones in '84) that sucks air in through the scoops and comes down into the air cleaner. The hydrolocking problem has been thought of, I 'm going to use PVC pipe that has a flexable elbow between two equel length pieces. When the hood is popped the pieces are extended straight and when it's closed they form a "V" shape, there will be a hose that routes water from the tip of the "V" down under the car where it belongs. I hope it works and if it does I'll be sure to post a tech article and let everyone here know.

Don't hold your breath,
Matt

I have an open element right now, it looks cool but it can be really hot under the hood (headers) and I want cold air.

My Holley gets rather hot but I dont have room for spacer and the open element. If I can move the filter I have room for the spacer.

Nonni

P.s. it can be hot in Iceland
