I know nothing about carbs....help!

Ok, i know nothing about carbs! I don't have a clue what goes on in them or around them! My question is can i do anything free or cheap to give my car performance???? Here's the scoop on my car: 84 Z28 H.O. 305, had the car for about 6 months and my dad got a LPE 383 so we put his 350 L-98 in my car!! No injection, i kept the intake( had it ported ) and the carb. together and just put it on the 350. Is this hurting me????? I also kept the exhaust manifolds from the 305. I'm looking to get headers but first new wheels Let me know if i can do anything or any other input would be great!

P.S. I ran 14.8 @ 95 like 3 yrs ago ( i didn't have some of the mods i have now so...)

Look in the tech articles. There's a couple on tuning q-jets.

The exhaust manifolds are hurting you, but the intake probably isn't.

I'd get headers before wheels.
