Switching to Holley, what to do with TCC

Im planning on getting a spreadbore holley double pumper, and then Ill replace the cc distributer with a vacuum advance distributer. But my only concerns are what do I do with the wiring? Just tape em up somewhere cozy like or just disconnect all the computer stuff? Also, what the hell am I goign to do about the TCC lockup signal to the tranny.

Doing the same thing right now to my TA. Put the extra wires out of the way or cut off excess. As for the TCC leave the computer in the car and wire up a swith (check the tech articles)to lock up the TCC when neccesary (strip or to use 4th). Or there are kits available from Jegs and Summit to control the TCC lockup, but they are about $100-160. I'm doing the first because I'll be swaping in a T5 come August. Good luck.

Be prepared for frustrations and disappointment. That carb wasn't Holley's best idea.

what do you suggest then? Im just frustrated with my carb, a bunch of stuff doesnt work the right way and i mean im use to holleys, easy mixture adjustments, and i think its just easier to adjust. Q-jet is a good carb they are more of a hassel though I think...Im jsut saying cause I know your gonna stick up for q-jet :-)

The double pumper part is an especially bad idea for you. You need lots of torque converter and gears on a pretty healthy engine to sustain a DP and automatic. The VS version might work a little better.

Yes, I truly believe the q-jet is the right way to go for a street driven (especially daily driven) automatic car. I'm quite happy with the way the '57 runs with the Holley, though. I'd say stay away from Performers, based on what I've seen from guys around me, and what I've heard on this board.

Emissions-wise, there's only one choice - CC q-jet. If that's an issue for you, you know what you've got to do.
