Advise!! Replacing Float in CC Carb
Help!! Replacing Float in CC Carb
I went to purchase a float for my Q-Jet today and they had 3 different ones all the same for my model. Problem is they are 10 dollars, 19 dollars and 20 dollars. The guy that was going to sell me one said they are made out of different materials. He said the 20 dollar one is obviuosly the best one. Is there a better one? Which one should I get? Thank you!

I would just go with the stock float. They last pretty good. When you take the airhorn off - take if off slowly so you can see how everything goes together. A good rebuild kit or manual should tell you what to set the float level at.
TIP: Just got my Rochester book by Doug Roe yesterday. Hold the float pin with needle in seat and invert the carb and measure the distance from top of float bowl to set the float level. Make sure solenoid spring doesn't fall out and get lost and other items.
good luck,
Craig
